ISTD organises a National Convention, and Regional Conventions, every year, attended by delegates from all over the country, to discuss vital issues and perspectives for HRD. This gives a national platform where HR Professionals  can share  views with opinion makers and decision makers.

ISTD also hosted several International Conferences:

4rth  IFTDO International Conference on “Human Resource Development: Experience & Experiments”, New Delhi, November, 1975; The Conference was inaugurated by the then Hon’ble President of India, Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed and attended by over 600 delegates from around 30 countries.

5th  ARTDO Conference on “Human Resource Development”, Ranchi, November 1978;

18th  International Conference on “Training for Productivity & Transformation”, New Delhi, November 1987;

23rd IFTDO World Conference on “Human Resource Development: Global Changes & Strategies in 2000 AD”, New Delhi, November 1994; the Conference was inaugurated by the then Hon’ble President of India Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma and attended by over 800 delegates from 33 countries; the Govt. of India released a commemorative postal stamp to commemorate the occasion.

33rd IFTDO World Conference & Exhibition held at New Delhi from November 22-25 2004 on the theme "Value Creation & Human Development - The Emerging Dimensions". The Conference was inaugurated by the Hon'ble President of India Dr A  P J Abdul Kalam and attended by over 1000 delegates from 33 countries; the Govt. of India released a commemorative postal stamp to commemorate the occasion.

Seminars & Symposia

Every month the National Office and the Chapters organize group discussions, seminars, workshops, lectures, symposia, round table discussions, at different locations in the country.
